News Barnsley College will hold its Graduation ceremony on Friday 1st October 2010 at 12.00pm at Barnsley Town Hall. Barnsley College and Fosters Bakery formalised their working relations
with an official partnership signing event on Tuesday 14th September. More Gabrielle Bailey was the delighted recipient of an iPod Touch after
entering a competition held at Barnsley College. Gabrielle, 14, from
Suffolk found a Barnsley Sixth Form College balloon in a field following
the launch of the new visual identity.
Barnsley Sixth Form College congratulate all its A Level students on
their success; and in particular those students who did even better than
they expected themselves. 2010 has proved to be a great year for
A Level results at Barnsley Sixth Form College with students achieving
over 96% pass rate. More.
Barnsley College entered two male teams and one female team into the
Catalonia Trophy for the second successive year to defend their titles
of male U19 and female open age champions.More. Thomas Wigglesworth, 16, formerly of Kirk Balk School has achieved the first step in his long-term ambition of becoming a professional within the construction industry. More. 24th June at the Metrodome, Barnsley. The awards ceremony was a
celebration of the success of both students and staff over the last
academic year and recognised students from across all College
departments. More A music video produced by and featuring students and staff from across College departments was premiered at the College’s annual student Excellence Awards ceremony which took place on the 24th June. More. ProTools is a recording platform used by many top recording studios both in the music industry, film audio and radio industry. The students completed the ProTools Industry 101 course over three days with an exam at the end of the training. More. 28th June - 4th July 2010 is Deaf Awareness
Week. The theme this year is 'Look At Me' and this year Barnsley College are getting involved in raising awareness. More.
Students at Barnsley College were celebrating this week after collecting certificates for their volunteering work. More. Is there a special person in your community who goes that extra mile to
make a difference in your area? The Spirit of Barnsley Awards
could see them recognised for their hard work and dedication. More. Barnsley College recently held an equality and diversity celebration day with events going on across a number of College sites. The main activities took place at the Old Mill Lane site and the celebration day was opened by a Chinese Lion who performed a ‘blessing’ to welcome everyone to the event. More. Barnsley College Music students recently attended a presentation by PC Michelle Hudson of South Yorkshire Traffic Police. She spoke to students at the College for 2 hours about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. More. Barnsley College is responding to feedback in learner forums by raising
the awareness of the amount of recycling carried out at the College.
Feedback received in learner forums revealed that students felt that the
College did not do enough recycling, however the College are now able
to track the amount of recycling carried out each month. More. Barnsley Sixth Form College launched its new visual identity this week with the unveiling of their new logo. More. Barnsley College has once again been recognised by the NHS as they
became the first and only College in the country to be awarded a ‘You’re
Welcome’ Award. The award is a standard of quality awarded by the NHS
and recognises the commitment to make health services young people
friendly and has, in the past, been reserved for NHS organisations. More. Over 40 Barnsley College Art and Design students visited New York City
this spring for their annual enrichment visit to The Big Apple. More.

Barnsley College were delighted to find out that they had made it
through to the regional final of the National Training Awards. Following
a visit from the judges, the College has now progressed on to the
regional final where the winners will be announced in September.
