RECORD RESULTS FOR A LEVEL STUDENTS
Barnsley Sixth Form College would like to congratulate all its A-Level students on their success; and in particular those students who surpassed their own expectations.
This is an exciting day as it is often the springboard for students to go on to achieve their ambitions.Barnsley Sixth Form College's overall A-level pass rate has increased to 97.1% with even more students having passed exams this year; 2800 exams were taken in over 30 subjects. In particular the results for English and Maths are extremely positive with 100% pass rate in English Language/Literature and 94.1% in Mathematics. 100% pass rates were achieved in the following subjects: Archaeology Art and Design (Fine Art) Art and Design (Graphic Design) Business Studies Classical Civilisation Computing, Economics English Language/Literature Environmental Science French Geography German Health and Social Care History Law Music Technology Physics Spanish Sport and Physical Education. Barnsley Sixth Form College Principal, Jenny Miccoli said, "This is always an exciting, nerve-wracking and rewarding day for students and staff alike. It was wonderful to see so many happy faces today. The successful students are to be congratulated on their hard work and I wish them all the very best for their future careers; whether this be progression to Higher Education, more learning or in to employment. For the few who did not do as well as hoped there are many options open to them and we have a dedicated team who can give them experienced and unbiased advice to ensure they have a stepping stone to the future they aspire to. Barnsley College will hold its Graduation ceremony on Friday 1st October 2010 at 12.00pm at Barnsley Town Hall.
Barnsley College and Fosters Bakery formalised their working relations
with an official partnership signing event on Tuesday 14th September.
Barnsley College were delighted to find out that they had made it
through to the regional final of the National Training Awards. Following
a visit from the judges, the College has now progressed on to the
regional final where the winners will be announced in September.
