Choosing a Course

If you would like to come and study at Barnsley College but are not sure which course is right for you, just take a look at the links in this section.

Barnsley College has lots of courses available and these can be practical, academic or work focused.  Everyone is interviewed before being accepted on a course to ensure it is the right course for them, their skills, abilities and future goals.

The links will shows the needs of each level and the kind of experience and achievement you should have when you consider applying. If you are over 19 please contact our Student Services Team about entry requirements.

Barnsley College has a set of standard entry requirements; however, the entry requirements shown on the course pages are dependant on individual needs, skills, experience and aspirations.  Different course areas require different skills and some of these will be investigated at interview.

This means, in some cases and courses, our entry requirements can be waived at the College’s discretion to ensure you are on the right level of course for you and your ambitions.

We are committed to developing a personalised approach to your learning. This means your application will be fully considered to match your level of ability, skills and experience in your chosen area of study whilst taking in to consideration your goals and ambitions.
