Health and Wellbeing Centre![]() Barnsley College Health & Wellbeing Centre opened in September 2009 with the view to maintain and improve the health of the Colleges Students and Staff within the educational environment both on a physical and mental level. The service works on a drop in basis and is completely confidential and free of charge. Facilities:
Currently at the centre are 3 full time nurses each with a background specialism in aspects of sexual health. We also have a community nurse and a midwife. The IAPT team come daily (Improved Access to Psychological Therapies). Services:
There is lots of information available at the Centre and throughout the year we are running health promotion campaigns to increase people’s awareness of various health issues. Above and beyond this we are offering health education sessions within the tutorial setting based on student led agendas. Our service is designed to meet your needs so if there is anything that you would like to discuss please don’t hesitate to come and visit us at the Health & Wellbeing Centre. Barnsley College will hold its Graduation ceremony on Friday 1st October 2010 at 12.00pm at Barnsley Town Hall.
Barnsley College and Fosters Bakery formalised their working relations
with an official partnership signing event on Tuesday 14th September.
Barnsley College were delighted to find out that they had made it
through to the regional final of the National Training Awards. Following
a visit from the judges, the College has now progressed on to the
regional final where the winners will be announced in September.
