Music students with the X Factor

Barnsley College BTEC National Diploma Music students entertained the crowds in Barnsley Town centre Wednesday 16th December who were out in numbers for the Christmas late night shopping. The music students played a variety of modern and Christmas songs to get the crowd singing along and in the festive mood.  Also on stage was recent X Factor contestant Danyl Johnson who performed The Beatles song ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’.

Student Chris Hewitt said ‘It was a great night playing to the crowds on the specially setup stage for the event. We played two weeks ago when another X Factor group performed on stage after us. It was cold but that didn’t stop the crowd getting involved. ’

Richard Tolson Curriculum Quality Leader in Music said "This is just one of many opportunities our students get to do on the course. The band played well and entertained the crowds. When Danyl Johnson came on stage the noise levels from the crowd went up. It was a nice way to end the year and there will be many more performances to come in the New Year."

Barnsley College Music section offers a range of music courses in Music and Music Technology.
